Victoria Warehouse Asian Wedding Photography
Where to start with this fun, colourful and heartfelt Victoria Warehouse asian wedding photography… I was spoilt for choice for the preview post images so there’s a few more than I’d usually put in but I promise you won’t get bored!
An Urban Warehouse with Industrial Cool
Farrah and Jack threw the best wedding celebration party last Sunday and chose the super cool Victoria Warehouse for all of the shindigs.
This venue provides a raw and urban backdrop (a setting inspired by the Industrial Revolution), with the glitz and glamour of a wedding thrown in the mix. With exposed walls, stone floors and a rustic feel, the simplicity of the space provides a blank canvas with which you can design a spectacular setting for your day which is exactly what Farrah and Jack did. All of the staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough to make sure the day went perfectly.
A Colourful, Fun and Asian Wedding Celebration
I love photographing asian weddings but this one felt extra special as it was a fusion of families and cultures. I knew the outfits wouldn’t disappoint and my goodness they didn’t, everyone looked incredible but obviously Farrah and Jack outshone everyone!
The day kicked off with the girls waiting for the groom and his entourage to arrive whilst the fantastic dholl drummers played for the big entrance. It’s tradition for the bridesmaids or brides closest female friends and family to stop the groom from entering until he coughs up some dough (all in jest of course) in order to be allowed in and marry his bride. Technically they were already married so Jack played hard ball here and was eventually allowed in!
The boys had been practicing their Bollywood dancing and you can tell they’d practised changing those lightbulbs in the morning!
Once down in the Archives and the Cellars at Victoria Warehouse, Farrah made her entrance escorted by her close male relatives under a beautiful dupatta (scarf) and was greeted with the biggest smile from Jack. After a few readings and blessings I took them out for a few photos which I am in love with! The colours are insane!
Time then for a good old asian feast… delicious!
There was so much to keep the guests entertained throughout the evening too including a Bollywood caricaturist, an Instagram photobooth, a glitter station, Mocktails by Saara and more.
Later on the fantastic Sonaash Bollywood dancing duo kicked off what was an unbelievable dance floor! Massive shout out to Zimmi on the decks who rocked the dance floor all night!
At the end of the night it is tradition for the bride to make a formal exit under a dupatta again with her male family members carrying it who give her hand to her husband before they leave. It’s such an emotional moment and I may have had a few tears myself.
Obviously a day like this can’t happen without an awesome team behind it. It was a pleasure to work with so many amazing suppliers who I hope to work with again soon. Massive thanks to the following:
Bridal hair and makeup – the talented Coshi Makeup
DJ – Zimmi at ZK Entertainments
Videography – Zohaib at Film Art Pictures
A stunning live painting of the wedding by Stephanie at Stephanie Paints Things (I’m literally in awe of her work!)
A beautiful bouquet by Mary Kershaw Flowers.
Huge thanks to Jessica for tagging along and second shooting for me – you were ace! – Jessica O’Shaughnessy
Enjoy this preview and I can’t wait to start working on the rest of the images. A massive thank you to Farrah, Jack and all of your family and friends for treating me and my fabulous second shooter Jessica O’Shaughnessy like we were family. x
