Spring Cottage Wedding Photography Lancashire by Ayesha Photography
On this grey, cold Monday is there anyone else dreaming of happy summer vibes? Maybe this gorgeous festival style wedding of Aimee of Jonny will put a smile on your face… it’s definitely a visual treat.
I had so much fun at this wedding it was hard to believe I was working. A + J are friends of one of my past couples Rebecca and James so there were a few familiar faces which is always nice. They chose a stunning wedding venue Spring Cottage in Rivington Lancashire. If you don’t know Spring Cottage then you need to head over for a coffee and a piece cake as it was just lovely and a perfect setting for A + J’s festival style wedding. It was great to work with my pal Stefan too of YSD media who did the videography.
Aimee wore a stunning vintage dress from Vintage Lane Bridal & Boutique in Bolton and Jonny wore a super cool aubergine suit from Ted Baker. There was an outdoor blessing which was beautiful, personal and unique followed by an INCREDIBLE confetti exit which was an explosion of glitter! The food was amazing, the speeches were hilarious and emotional, the music was off the hook and the dancefloor shook all night.
Scroll down to the bottom to read what Aimee and Jonny had to say about their day. x
How they met…
The Christmas Tree Ball at Blackpool Tower
Jonny suprised Aimee by telling her they were meeting friends to watch a gig in Primrose Hill, he managed to blindfold her by making up a story about a ritual him & his friend had that had to be followed when walking to the top of Primrose hill. Once at the top Jonny had arranged for fairy lights & candles to be set up under trees where he knelt to ask the question. Aimee said yes, they then enjoyed a bottle champagne looking over the view of London city. Jonny had then arranged another suprise for some friends to meet nearby in a pub to celebrate, then whisked her away to Paris for a few days.
A bit more about their day…
We wanted a day that would involve dancing under the stars, that would be nothing but fun for us & our friends & family. We wanted a venue that had plenty of outside space & wanted a festival vibe with a vintage twist. We chose Spring Cottage because it was set in the most beautiful grounds that we could use as we wished & also had a marquee. We both love music so chose to have that as a key part of our day with steel drums, a personalised playlist, band, DJ & acoustic first dance. We personalised Spring Cottage by making as much of the decorations as possible; we had homemade signs, hessian & lace jars scattered on the tables & around the grounds, candles, bunting, table numbers, seating plan, homemade cake & scones- we loved getting crafty & hands on which meant it was exactly how we wanted & gave our friends & family the opportunity to get involved.
Favourite parts of the day…
Seeing our guests enjoying the venue & all the efforts & hard work that went into it. Dancing the night away in the outdoors surrounded by lanterns, hay bales & firepits. Just having a massive party with our favourite people. Our beautiful wedding ceremony delivered perfectly by our celebrant, it was personal & funny & unique.

“We could not have chosen a more perfect photographer. Having heard great things about her from friends; we had a look at her website & upon seeing her incredible work, knew that we had to have her.
We met beforehand when she travelled to our home in London & did a Love shoot. Although we were awkward at first in front of the camera, her bubbly & friendly personality made us feel completely at ease.
On the lead up to the wedding she was a massive help in organising the times & run through of the day. Being the professional she is, and with her tons of experience she knew exactly how long certain parts of the day would take.
On the day itself she could not have been more professional, she was so friendly and lovely that it felt like a friend was photographing us. When needed she was directing us to get the perfect shot, then at other times she blended into the background to take the most beautiful natural pictures.
The final result of the pictures themselves were absolutely incredible, she truly captured the atmosphere of the day & the pictures hold such amazing memories perfectly.
We would recommend Ayesha a million times over. Love her & her work!!!”
