One birthday party, one amazing venue, one gorgeous bride, one gorgeous groom, two amazing dresses, one pair of Jimmy Choos, one proposal, one wedding, one mega party and one epic party!!!

I honestly do not even know where to begin with blogging this wedding… EPIC is an understatement!!! Fay and Clarky are one awesome couple and I was completely honoured and privileged to be asked to shoot this momentous day in their lives at the Eclectic Hotel Collection‘s Great John Street Hotel. Come and have a read about how this day came about here. A 30th birthday turned into a surprise proposal and a surprise wedding all in the space of 30 minutes!! It was amazing to see all of their guest reactions. Seriously not a soul (apart from their parents) knew about this. I loved every minute of it so can you imagine how they felt?! Thank you to my fabulous friend Claire for being an amazing assistant too  🙂

It was that big a deal that it ended up in the Daily Mirror and in Closer magazine – how cool!!! Grab a brew and a choccy biccie because like this wedding this blog post is EPIC!

Thank you so much for asking me to do this guys. Enjoy reliving the memories. (Further details on the wedding below) x

How did the two of you meet?

We met on the back of a boat in Thailand. I was on holiday with my best friend, and we were on a boat to Phi Phi island, we were sat downstairs, but I said that we had to go and look at the beautiful cliffs on the way in to Phi Phi, so went up top and as we were marveling at how beautiful the scenery was, we heard behind us someone say “this reminds me of Salford precinct” and I turned round to see Clarky smiling at me, that was the start of it all…

Tell us about the proposal.

The proposal happened at my 30th birthday party in front of all our friends and family, I obviously knew he was going to propose, but I didn’t know what he was going to say, but nevertheless I cried straight away as his thoughtful and lovely words!

So tell us about your big day and why you chose to do the things you did.

We chose to have a surprise wedding because we wanted it to be different, all we wanted was a big party and for our nearest and dearest to celebrate our marriage with us, but ultimately we just wanted to party! We wanted to surprise all our friends and family too and to make it a night that no one is ever going to forget. That’s why we decided after we had surprised people with the proposal and then the wedding straight after, we then had the best Michael Jackson impersonator just walk through the room at midnight and completely surprise everyone again and they were very surprised!!! haha

What was the best aspect of your day?

I think just the fact that everyone was on such a high from the excitement of everything, it just felt like there was so much happiness and love in the room, it really was just the best night of our lives.

Who were your suppliers and did you have any favourites? (Any website details or contact numbers would be great)

 Obviously Julie Perry Events!!!!

Dress is by Annasul Y from the fabulous White Closet in West Didsbury

What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding?

Just enjoy it, don’t get caught up in all the dramas and stresses that your family and friends may put on you, they won’t mean to do it but they will. Just remember that ultimately it is about you and your husband-to-be, and what you want out of the day, so just do what makes you both happy and everyone who loves you will appreciate that.

Last but not least, sum up your photographer in 3 words…

 Absolutely frigging fantastic!!
