If Carlsberg did weddings… then this Hotel Son Esteve Mallorca wedding would be it! This traditional Mallorcan Finca is a wedding photographer’s dream. The finca retains its original charm and is set in the most stunning countryside near Andratx, surrounded by fruit trees, almonds, horses roaming the fields, cacti and is basked in glorious Spanish sunshine, it really must be seen to be appreciated.
When Cara and Will contacted me to photograph their wedding and we arranged a Skype chat it was evident we were going to get on very well and that their day was going to have an amazing party vibe feel to it. All of the choices were so stylish and well thought through and they really didn’t disappoint on the party front!
As I was staying at the Finca I picked up my camera early and started to capture the preparations and actually stayed up partying with everyone capturing all the crazy pool antics and dancefloor moves right into the early hours.
It was hard to narrow images for this blog post so I’ve chosen a selection of the day. If you want to see more then click on the link at the bottom of the post to view their highlights slideshow.
Planning a destination wedding can be challenging and stressful on occasions but if you do your research like Cara and Will did and surround yourself with talented suppliers you will no doubt have the most incredible day. I get asked a lot about how my job looks so glamorous and isn’t it exciting that I get to travel photographing weddings and yes I agree I am extremely lucky to be able to do this and that my couples trust me to do my thing. When booking a photographer for your wedding in Spain, Europe or further afield make sure you look into the photographer’s portfolio, check they can drive abroad as most venues are quite remote and can’t be accessed without a car and that they can deal with bright harsh sunlight. If you’re spending your hard earned cash on a beautiful wedding abroad then I’d definitely recommend investing in your photography!
For inspiration go and check some of wonderful wedding blogs out there like The Lane, The Knot, Green Wedding Shoes and Rock My Wedding. You’ll find lots of fabulous Pinterest worthy posts and a great list of suppliers too.
