I’ve been meaning to blog this wedding for a while now but I wanted to do it justice and so I’ve finally got round to doing it. I love all of my weddings and couples that I get to work with but I have to say this one has a little special place in my heart. I used to work with Matt and so I was honoured to be asked to shoot his big day to the gorgeous Katarina at Ripley Castle in Yorkshire. The day was filled with such happiness and the love that these two share is totally beautiful as it oozes out of them! I was made to feel part of the day right from the word go and I felt every emotional too. At the time Matt and Kat were expecting a new little arrival too and so were in the middle of buying a house (talk about doing everything at once!). They only went and got their mortgage approval through on the morning of the wedding and I was with Kat as she got the news 🙂 What a wonderful way to start the wedding day. Now there’s sign for a very special day.
I was in tears during the service which was carried out by the same priest who had married Matt’s mum and dad and who had sadly conducted the funeral service of Matt’s mum earlier this year. I laughed and cried at all of the wonderful speeches and my stomach was hurting the next day from laughing at all the amazing moves on the dance floor.
This was a wedding with a meeting of two countries and families, England and Sweden and it was fab to see the two traditions coming together. One of the funniest things was a swedish tradition of queuing up to kiss the bride or the groom every time one of them left the room. Funny as!
I’ll stop gushing now but before I do, congratulations to you both and also on the arrival of your beautiful baby boy Fedrik. xxx
