Elsecar Heritage Centre Wedding Photographer
What a pleasure to be Kirsty and Dan’s Elsecar Heritage Centre wedding photographer over in Barnsley a couple of weeks ago. I literally don’t know where to start with describing how absolutely bloody lovely these two are and how ace their wedding was.
From the moment they got in touch to when we met up to chat all things wedding, we hit it off immediately. They’re a reyt good laugh!
When they told me what the super talented Ellie and her team at Inner City Weddings had planned for the venue, I couldn’t wait for the day to be here. And my goodness they didn’t disappoint, it was a beauty all put together by an awesome team of wedding fairies.
Elsecar Heritage Centre
Elsecar is a cute little village, transformed by the Earls Fitzwilliam into a thriving centre of iron and coal. It’s now packed with shops, cafes, delicatessens and antiques as well as the fabulous Iron Works building where all the wedding celebrations were held.
It was a perfect blank canvas to transform into a reyt good Yorkshire wedding knees up!
Kirsty and Dan made some fabulous choices by choosing things like their wedding get-up from Elsecar too. How sweet is that?! Kirsty’s cute little number was from The White Yard and Dan’s suit was from Tweed and Groom part of The White Yard, located at Elsecar. They looked amazing!
I also loved Kirsty’s short veil which set off her vintage style dress perfectly. She had some lovely bespoke additions on the clip part of the veil too which were super personal to her which I loved. Make sure you scroll down for the pics of when said veil flew of her head in a gust of wind!
The stunning florals were supplied by the talented Campbells Flowers in Sheffield, my goodness did they do a good job. The venue looked incredible and so did all of the individual bouquets. So pretty.
A reyt good knees up
From the moment I walked in to bridal prep with the girls there was a nice buzz in the air. Kirsty was surrounded by some many of her loved ones including lots of little ones which I had to be careful not to stand on! After a few of hours of getting ready it was time to set off in a gorgeous vintage white mini. how cute?!
From there it was ceremony time. When Kirsty arrived the weather gods decided to have a little happy cry, just long enough for me to get some cool shots of the wedding party hanging outside of the doors under a big white sheet, you know as you do! But then we were all good.
After the I do’s, they exited to a barrage of confetti whilst the Sheffield Pipe Band greeted them with bagpipes in the courtyard.
There was so much to keep the guests entertained which was ace. From cool chesterfield sofas and rugs for a chill out area, hula hoops and activities for the kids and big kids, wicked arcade games by Arcade Hire and super fun steam train rides just outside! There was no chance of anyone being bored I can tell you. And that steam train was just brilliant. Definitely the highlight of my day.
The day continued to be so much fun with Kirsty love of musicals coming alive when there was a brilliant flash mob singing lots of big musical numbers. The night went on into the early hours with a great 80’s band getting everyone up dancing. It was ace to see massive confetti canons being used just after the first dance, it looked so good.
Massive big up’s
Kirsty and Dan, it was an absolute pleasure to be part of your special day. I loved every second. A massive thanks to Ellie and Lynsey at Inner City Weddings for being so much fun to work with and for your talent, and to Katie Dervin for second shooting, you were absolutely brilliant!
Now go and enjoy this BIG preview! x
