Chetham’s Library Wedding

Where to even start with this stunning Chetham’s library wedding… I first met Dom and Mikey early last year at a wedding fayre in Manchester where we bonded over our love of tequila! Fast forward a few weeks and I was writing in the contract that tequila shots were compulsory and my goodness were they!

A day to remember

Dom and Mikey got ready together at the Midland hotel and looked bloody handsome in their incredibly stylish suits by the super talented Richard Smith Bespoke.  Once ready, we headed over on foot to Chetham’s whilst stopping here and there for a few portraits against some of Manchester’s beautiful architecture.

Chetham’s Library

Chetham’s is a beautiful sandstone building dating back to the 15th century and has tonnes of character. I absolutely adored taking photos upstairs in the library, the smell of all of those old books was something else. It took me right back to memories of my childhood and being holed up in my local library – good times.

We all know that Summer weddings can never be guaranteed amazing weather in the UK, especially in Manchester and typically the rain was on and off all day which didn’t matter at all given the choice of venue.

Chetham’s was perfect for everything Dom and Mikey had planned for their day.

From the second they walked up the aisle to the Beauty and the Beast theme tune (a nod to their love of all things Disney), bright joyful sunflowers dotted around, a fabulous musical sing along on the piano by Mikey (who is crazily talented), some of the best speeches I’ve heard at a wedding ever – the words “Grindr” and “golden shower” came up (ha)… a fabulous hidden rainbow cake underneath an incredible cystal-esque design by the wonderfully talented Rachel at Marie Antoinette Cakes and the best moves on the dance floor whilst the fab percussionist and sax player (from Jonny Ross Music) kept everyone going until the early hours.

Massive thanks to my wonderful second shooter Jessica O’Shaughnessy who did a great job. Also to Catherine and the team at Chetham’s who were all super lovely and looked after us well.

I absolutely LOVED being part of this day and I feel like we’ll be friends for life. Thanks so much for having me and enjoy this preview boys! x
