Back in February I had the pleasure of being chosen as the lucky photographer to capture Lucy and Neil‘s very special wedding day at the beautiful Belle Epoque in Knutsford. It was a day filled with so much love and laughter. Lucy and Neil’s friends and family treated me like I was a guest at the wedding which was so nice. All of the details were gorgeous as well as both Lucy and Neil looking amazing too! As you can see we got some glorious sunlight which was heavenly and so it was rude not to go out and play in it! As well as working at the Belle Epoque I got to work with the very talented Danielle Horan Hair and Makeup as well as the mega photoboothness that is The Mighty Boof! Congratulations again Lucy and Neil. xxx
Finally here are a few words from Lucy and Neil…
How did the two of you meet?
We met in 2001 at university. We were both staying in the same halls, Broomhurst in Didsbury. It all started from there.
Tell us about the proposal.
In August 2012 we started our gap year, we started our adventures in Indonesia. It was 11th September 2013, we were in Ubud, Bali and it was my 30th Birthday. We were away from home and Neil made the whole day special, lovely lunch, Balinese traditional dance and surprise massage, I didn’t think anymore. We came back from a meal and drinks to our accommodation and there were candles everywhere, in the pool and at the tables. It was gorgeous. That’s when I knew he was going to propose. It was so special and gorgeous.
So tell us about your big day and why you chose to do the things you did.
We came back from travelling in July 2013 and we wanted to get married as soon as we could. We found the Belle and we loved its quirkiness and it was a perfect size for our numbers (we didn’t like the corporate feel of some big hotels) it felt more personal and intimate which was important to us. We wanted a relaxed day and fun filled night time with lots of dancing.
What was the best aspect of your day?
Getting married and saying our vows and having all our friends and family around us to share it with us.
Who were your suppliers and did you have any favourites?
Our beautiful cakes
What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding?
Make sure you don’t over plan and over think things, it will be perfect either way. Make sure you have what you want don’t let others change your mind.
Last but not least, sum up your photographer in 3 words… 🙂
Smiley, lovely and amazing!!!!
